The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox introduces a complete redesign that brings modern styling and enhanced technology to this popular compact SUV. The new model is 2.5 inches wider than its predecessor, featuring squared wheel openings and pronounced fender flares that create a more muscular stance.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox is available in the LT, RS, and ACTIV trims. The LT trim has LED headlamps, daytime running lights, and 17-inch Grazen metallic machined-face wheels. The RS trim adds sportier elements with a black mesh grille design, black bowtie emblems, and 19-inch Carbon flash metallic machined-face aluminum wheels, with available 20-inch wheels, a first for the Equinox model. The RS offers a two-tone black roof option. The ACTIV trim features a titanium chrome-plated grille, 17-inch Dark Android machined-face aluminum wheels with all-terrain tires, and a two-tone white roof option. The RS and ACTIV trims include roof rails and specific front fascia.
Engine (Power)
All 2025 Equinox trims have a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 175 horsepower at 5,600 rpm. Front-wheel-drive models generate 184 pound-feet of torque, while all-wheel-drive versions deliver 203 pound-feet. Front-wheel-drive models pair with a continuously variable transmission for smooth power delivery and optimal fuel efficiency. All-wheel-drive models utilize an eight-speed automatic transmission for precise gear selection and enhanced performance. The all-wheel-drive system is available across all trim levels.
Performance
The 2025 Equinox delivers a 0-to-60 mph sprint time of approximately 8.2 seconds in all-wheel drive. A drive mode selector provides Normal, Snow/Ice, and Off-Road modes to optimize performance for varying conditions. The ACTIV trim features enhanced suspension tuning, while the RS has a sport-tuned suspension system. With all-wheel drive, the Equinox gets 24 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined. The 15.6-gallon fuel tank provides a substantial range between fill-ups. Towing capacity varies by drivetrain, with front-wheel-drive models rated at 800 pounds and all-wheel-drive versions capable of pulling 1,500 pounds.
Interior
The 11.3-inch diagonal infotainment touchscreen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Seating materials vary by trim, with cloth surfaces in the LT, Evotex seating with Torch Red and Santorini Blue stitching in the RS, and Evotex with sueded microfiber in the ACTIV. The RS and ACTIV trims come standard with heated front seats, while ventilated ones are available. An eight-way power driver seat with lumbar control is also available. The RS trim features a flat-bottom steering wheel. Dual-zone automatic climate control comes standard with the RS and ACTIV. The cargo area provides 29.8 cubic feet behind the second row, expanding to 63.5 cubic feet with the 60/40-split folding rear seats down. A hidden rear cargo floor storage compartment adds versatility.
Safety Features
The standard Chevy Safety Assist suite includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, lane-keep assist with lane departure warning, following distance indicator, and IntelliBeam automatic high beam assist. New 2025 safety features include intersection automatic emergency braking and reverse automatic braking. Additional safety technologies include a rear vision camera, available adaptive cruise control, HD surround vision camera system, enhanced lane-keep assist, rear park assist, and lane change alert with side blind zone alert. The Teen Driver feature allows parents to set specific vehicle parameters and review the driving habits of younger drivers.
