Three Breakfast Places Worth the Morning Drive Near Frederic, WI

A simple breakfast is easy to make or find, but when you want a truly delicious breakfast experience, you want to head to the best breakfast places. Here in Frederic, WI, we have a really delicious spot for the most important meal of the day, and with the new Chevrolet Trax, there are also some great spots just a short drive away.

Tin Shed Cafe

At 101 Oak St. W., this café is serving up the best breakfast anywhere. They open at 6:30 AM on the weekends and close by 11 AM, so you know that breakfast is their specialty. During the week, they are open from 7 AM until 2 PM except for Tuesdays, when they are closed. Expect excellent service, wonderful prices, and tasty food served by people who really care that you have a great experience at their restaurant.

If you have a big appetite, we recommend that you go for the steak and eggs or the Texas Takedown, which is two pieces of Texas French toast with two sausage links or two slices of bacon and an egg. The Tin Shed Sandwich is also amazing. It's a toasted ciabatta with scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, or a sausage patty, topped with cheese and Sriracha aïoli. Try their "Bean's Recipe" Swedish pancake, too. You also don't want to miss their caramel rolls.

The Main Dish

Hop on down to 219 Main St. S. in Luck to visit this great spot anytime after 7 AM from Tuesday through Sunday. They close at 2 PM, and you can also get a good lunch here, but their breakfast is where it's at. This is a great small-town dining experience with home-cooked food, old-fashioned friendly service, and coffee that never stops coming.

Their specialty here is their buttermilk pancakes, which we recommend you get with her perfectly cooked bacon. They also do a nice breakfast bake that is scrambled eggs with ham, green peppers, onion, tomato, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese. They do a fabulous hot croissant sandwich with ham and cheese. And the Jason is also very good: that's a biscuit with an over-easy egg, sausage, and American cheese, smothered over with their delicious sausage gravy.

Gary's Rude Café

This fun place lives at 7709 West Main St. in siren, just a little north of us. They open up at 7 AM every morning, so this is a spot you can head to on Tuesday when our local breakfast spot is closed. Just be aware that they get really busy by 9 o'clock, so get there early for breakfast if you want a leisurely time and a quiet spot to enjoy your meal.

Try their delicious steak and eggs, which comes with hashbrowns and toast. They also do an incredible Stacker with hashbrowns, eggs, cheese, and a Denver mix with toast. You should also try their Granny omelet, which is peppers, ham, onion, cheese, and hashbrowns all rolled up.

4 Great Fishing Spots in Driving Distance of Frederic, WI

Image via Pixabay. There's nothing like fishing to help you calm down, get away from it all, and just spend some quality time alone or with close friends. We have some nice fishing spots within decent driving distance of us here in Frederic, WI. Let us share with you the best places for your next expedition. more Coon Lake Park Right in the heart of town, at 300-322 Lake Ave S, Coon Lake Park doesn't strike you immediately as the perfect fishing spot. But once you drop a line in, you'll see. The park is small, but it's a great place to go for fishing and to take your kids for some of their earliest fishing experiences. The boardwalk and docks offer good spots, and sun fish are especially popular here. Big Butternut Lake Head south on 35 for a bit to Big Butternut Lake in Luck, WI, and you won't be disappointed. This is a great spot for walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, and panfish. Just watch out for the eagles: they're often fishing here, too. In general, fishing here is best from 7-9 am, though it's not terrible in the afternoon, either. Just check the fishing forecast before you go for the best times. Big Trade Lake Big Trade Lake is northwest of town in Trade Lake. This is one of the cleanest and most beautiful lakes in the area, and there's also camping here if you want to make an expedition of it. Expect really good fishing here, especially for panfish. This is also a popular winter ice fishing spot, yet it remains fairly under-populated for the size, so you don't usually have to fight for a good spot. There's a couple of docks and also lots of hiking here, if you want a break off the water. In addition to panfish, you'll find walleye, largemouth bass, northern pike, and muskies. Straight Lake State Park Head over to 2700 120th St, in Luck to get to the park, and then enjoy some of the best fishing around. It can be hard to get a campsite reserved here, but if you can, it's worth it. This is widely renowned as some of the cleanest camping in the state: it's also renowned for the great pike fishing. The park has carry-in boat launches only and lots of trails that meander along the lake. This is a state park, so you'll need a valid admission sticker, which you can buy online. For 2023, the price is $28 for residents for the first vehicle in a household and $15.50 for additional vehicles in the same household. We think it's worth it for the fabulous casting.
