The heart of your alternator is a bundle of magnets bound with wire. As your alternator spins, the magnets generate magnetic energy. This energy is captured by the stator and turned into AC. Your car's electrical systems, however, require DC. The purpose of the rectifier is to convert this AC to DC. If your rectifier is damaged, it won't be able to convert the electricity produced by the magnets. Without this conversion, your electrical systems will instantly stop working. Our technicians can check your rectifier for damage and replace it if necessary. A new rectifier will continue the conversion, and your electrical systems will work normally again. Your Alternator Is Old An alternator is a relatively long-lived component, with an average lifespan of eight years. Expect excellent service, wonderful prices, and tasty food served by people who really care that you have a great experience at their restaurant. If you have a big appetite, we recommend that you go for the steak and eggs or the Texas Takedown, which is two pieces of Texas French toast with two sausage links or two slices of bacon and an egg. The Tin Shed Sandwich is also amazing. It's a toasted ciabatta with scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, or a sausage patty, topped with cheese and Sriracha aïoli. Try their "Bean's Recipe" Swedish pancake, too. You also don't want to miss their caramel rolls. The Main Dish Hop on down to 219 Main St. S. in Luck to visit this great spot anytime after 7 AM from Tuesday through Sunday. They close at 2 PM, and you can also get a good lunch here, but their breakfast is where it's at. This is a great small-town dining experience with home-cooked food, old-fashioned friendly service, and coffee that never stops coming. Their specialty here is their buttermilk pancakes, which we recommend you get with her perfectly cooked bacon. They also do a nice breakfast bake that is scrambled eggs with ham, green peppers, onion, tomato, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese. They do a fabulous hot croissant sandwich with ham and cheese. And the Jason is also very good: that's a biscuit with an over-easy egg, sausage, and American cheese, smothered over with their delicious sausage gravy. Gary's Rude Café This fun place lives at 7709 West Main St. in siren, just a little north of us. They open up at 7 AM every morning, so this is a spot you can head to on Tuesday when our local breakfast spot is closed. Just be aware that they get really busy by 9 o'clock, so get there early for breakfast if you want a leisurely time and a quiet spot to enjoy your meal. Try their delicious steak and eggs, which comes with hashbrowns and toast. They also do an incredible Stacker with hashbrowns, eggs, cheese, and a Denver mix with toast. You should also try their Granny omelet, which is peppers, ham, onion, cheese, and hashbrowns all rolled up.
